I was given this laptop by a friend of mine which was turned in by an employee at his place of work…

When asked what happened to it she claimed she dropped it … uh okay.  When asked again, she said it was run over and unfortunately those are all the details I have of the incident …

Given that only a small triangle in the upper left of the screen about 2 inches in size it was a bit difficult to use single-user mode to reset the root password but after a few tries mission accomplished.  After this was done I mirrored the desktop to my LCD, setup Apple Remote Desktop and VNC’d into it and voila headless G4 laptop for free!  Perfect for checking browser problems on OS X and playing tech support guru for Apple friends.
